About The SCPA Vocal Music
Who We Are
The Vocal Music Program at Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) cultivates a dynamic community of dedicated singer-artists and aspiring musicians. Through focused study, students evolve into proficient vocalists and well-rounded musicians. Central to the vocal music pathway are principles of vocal pedagogy, music literacy, and exploration of diverse performance opportunities. Students engage with a diverse repertoire that spans genres from Classical to Pop. With nine distinctive ensembles and courses available, students can participate in a variety of activities. Additionally, SCPA offers courses in musical theater, integrating vocal performance with choreography, acting, character development, and stage presence. Students in the Vocal Music Program also embark on transformative travel experiences, both nationally and internationally. They frequently collaborate with esteemed groups such as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, The Cincinnati May Festival Chorus, and other renowned artists. This program provides students with a comprehensive journey, equipping them with the skills, experiences, and opportunities needed to pursue their musical passions. Whether preparing for higher education or entering the industry post-graduation, SCPA’s Vocal Music Program empowers students to excel and thrive in their musical pursuits.
